On March 5 or 19, 2016 the West Virginia Reading Association, WVRA District I and the Oglebay Institute in Wheeling, West Virginia will provide two, separate days of professional development for teachers. The materials for this professional development were developed by the Folger Shakespeare Library in Washington DC.
The basic two hour session in the morning of each date will give teachers the information they will need to prepare students to see the First Folio exhibit, which will be at Oglebay Park in Wheeling, WV from May 9-June 12, 2016. In the afternoon, the teachers who will be attending the four hour session will receive the basic two hour session plus two additional professional development clock hours on strategies to connect teachers and students with Shakespeare’s Language.

Registration for the two or four hour workshops is free. However, space is limited. To participate in either the two hour or four hour workshops on March 5, 2016 or for theMarch 19, 2016 two and four hour workshops, which will be a repeat of the March 5, 2016 workshop, call 304-242-7272 or to register electronically, go to
Box lunches will be available at a cost of $10.00. The box lunch will be delivered at the end of the first part of the workshop. Also for teachers, who might need overnight lodging, a special workshop lodging rate is available through Oglebay Park for West Virginia Residents by calling 1-800-624-6988. Be sure also to mention SHAKESPEARE FIRST FOLIO WORKSHOP WEST VIRGINIA OR SURROUNDING AREA RESIDENT.
