Literacy Implementation Guidance for the ELA Common Core State Standards

Effective reading instruction is at the CORE of the Common Core State Standards (CCSS). These standards have been adopted by 48 states, including Pennsylvania.  Although there has been a lot of press and web-based information about CCSS, educators find much of the document confusing in terms of how to put the standards into practice.

Recently, IRA published Literacy Implementation Guidance for the ELA Common Core State Standards. This 4-page article is an easy read and offers clear and concise guidelines for integrating the key ideas of CCSS with effective practices. KSRA is please to provide this resource for you on our webpage and on Facebook. The article is also available at www.reading.org/CCSSguidelines.
