Keystone State Reading Association
Fiftieth Annual Conference
Hershey Lodge, Hershey, PA
Pre-Conference Institute, Sunday, October 8, 2017
Conference, Monday, October 9 – Wednesday, October 11, 2017
We have so much to celebrate! Keystone State Reading Association has been promoting reading and literacy leadership for 50 years! And we are still advancing the message of how vital literacy is throughout the state, both in Harrisburg and through the hands and feet of our local council members who share their knowledge with their colleagues, volunteer in the community to promote literacy, and who lead us to grow stronger in our outreach and message each year.
Won’t you celebrate with us as we continue to build upon our legacy with a return to Hershey, where we will be joined by keynote speakers: The Sisters, Jan Richardson, Jeff Anderson, Pam Allyn, Kristin Ziemke, Mark Overmeyer, and Doug Fisher, and Secretary of Education, Pedro Rivera. Attendees to the 2017 conference will also learn from other literacy leaders throughout the state and have the opportunity to connect with some incredible children’s and young adult authors during a luncheon and round table discussion, as well as during our morning breakfasts.
Is this the year that you will share your own great literacy ideas with others by submitting a proposal? We value both return and new presenters who have a passion for literacy and ideas to share. We will also have an opportunity for pre-service teachers from Pennsylvania colleges/universities to share their learning with each other during a poster-session created just for them.
Please check the KSRA website (www.ksrapa.org) regularly throughout the year for updates about our 50th anniversary conference and celebration. It is going to be an incredible year of learning, honoring, and recognizing literacy leaders for their tireless commitment to promoting reading and writing with their learners.
Yours in Literacy,
